Royal Enfield Unveils Turbocharged engine in Himalayan

Royal Enfield’s custom bike development arm at the UK Tech Centre seems to have been busy working on project after project in Himalayan with a turbocharged engine. It is called the MJR Roach.

The modifications made to the custom motorcycle are not only cosmetic but there are a host of mechanical changes as well.

The MJR Roach uses the same 411cc, single-cylinder engine from the Himalayan. However, it has been upgraded with a Garrett GT 125 turbocharger. Royal Enfield claims that the addition of a turbo has increased the power output from 24 BHP to 50 BHP.  The MJR Roach also includes a Li-ion battery for lower weight, a K&N aftermarket air filter, a new fuel pump, and a single-sided extended swing arm with a monoshock at the rear.
The motorcycle looks to be straight out of the Mad Max movie with a custom-made headlamp cluster, featuring four LED headlamps all placed in a metal enclosure. The bike rides on Continental TKC 80 tyres.
